How independent playlists can contribute to organic growth on Spotify
This article has an educational and informational purpose and explains how independent playlists can support discovery and the organization of an artist’s presence on Spotify, based on our project’s experience using the Daily Playlist platform.
Playlists are not guarantees of growth or shortcuts. They work as a complementary tool within a broader strategy of promotion and artistic positioning.
What is Daily Playlist and how it works
Daily Playlist is a platform that connects artists and playlist curators. Artists can submit their music for free to playlists organized by musical genre and, in some cases, by language.
The platform offers both free and paid plans, but any artist can use it. The entire process is based on manual submissions and interaction between artists and curators, without automated growth systems.
How the project’s exclusive playlists work
Within Daily Playlist, we adopt a model in which each artist receives an exclusive playlist, created specifically for them.
- Playlist name: RADAR RYPLAY – Artist Name
- Custom avatar
- Cover artwork created from the avatar
- Ongoing editorial management
After launch, the artist can download the avatar and use it across their own profiles and projects, strengthening their visual identity.
How submissions and automatic gates work
On Daily Playlist, music submissions operate through automatic gates, which are simple actions required at the moment of submission, such as:
- Following a Spotify profile
- Liking a playlist
- Liking a track selected by the curator
In our model, these actions directly benefit the artist themselves, strengthening their playlist and Spotify profile.
Where the listeners come from
Listeners mainly come from the Daily Playlist community, made up of independent artists and curators. This environment generates organic and real music circulation, without artificial traffic.
Followers and likes: how it works in practice
For a playlist to be accepted on the platform, it must reach at least 100 followers. The project creates and manages the playlist until it reaches this initial number.
Each playlist must contain a minimum of 30 tracks. If the artist does not yet have that number, compatible tracks are added to complete the curation.
Likes and followers begin to appear from the first accepted submission, when the gates are activated. Genre information helps direct the playlist to a more compatible audience.
What this project does not do
- It does not guarantee continuous growth
- It does not promise specific numbers
- It does not use bots or automations
- It does not sell streams
- It does not offer paid services
Limitations and realistic expectations
Not all artists grow in the same way. Results depend on factors such as musical style, niche size, self-promotion, and audience compatibility.
The goal is to prepare the artist’s profile to receive new listeners, not to generate immediate results.
How blog curation works
The curation carried out by the blog is free and has an editorial and organizational purpose.
All artists who correctly complete the form will have an exc
